To Obtain a House

Well, as of May 1st, I will be a proud home renter. This will be my first home to move into, and it will be my first time to have a true space of my own. I hope to upload pictures from the first day, because I’ve never seen a house look more like a witch’s cottage than this place. Its a small two story cottage surrounded by woods. I found out quickly that the house searching and waiting process is a stressful one. For a while we didn’t know if we were going to be able to get the house due to other bidders, and even before that we were worried nothing would open up in our location, but after some careful planning and some waiting, we found our home. This process got me thinking though, there has to be something to make this less stressful, so today I’m going to share some secrets on selling as well as buying a home, pagan style.  Read more »

Step Right Up

Flash. Give me terror*. Curtain up.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
From Americans to Englishmen,
we’ve all got some time to spend,
so why not tune in tonight.

We have a special show for you,
a woman steps in the glass room,
so all of you may resume,
your judgment for tonight.

Flash. Give me brutal honesty*. Dim the lights.

Her hair is far too frizzy,
Her dress is loud and busy,
but her hips will make you dizzy,
with a girth that surpasses thirty-six.

Now don’t allow your feelings,
to be giving you the reasons,
just watch her as she weakens,
so don’t believe a second— her charade.

Flash. Give me malice*. Que the music .

Don’t ever for a moment,
think she isn’t asking for it.
just in case you haven’t noticed,
she clearly chose to take the stage.

So, as she’s glanced at by the people,
and you judge her as they mingle.
and whisper why she’s still single,
let’s not forget she’s the one who set the stage.

Flash. Give me envy*. And…scene.

Dream prophecy and Interpretation

So, I had a dream last night. It was actually a horrific nightmare that has caused me to ponder and pick apart the events very carefully today. Do you believe in dream interpretation? How do you view prophetic dreaming? This is actually a complicated subject for me. From all that I’ve learned in the scientific realm… dreams are either replays of different events that you have watched or experienced in your life time, or they are as Sigmund Freud has described, “junk dreams”. Junk dreams are when you dream of just random, for lack of a better word “psychedelic” dreams that really don’t make much sense. This I believe to be true, but I also know for more than one documented occasion, I’ve prophecized death.  Read more »

Matty and the Park

So… I’ve been taking a Creative Writing class (I’ve actually been taking it to improve my spell writing…. but don’t tell them that). Here’s the latest thing I’ve written for that class, I’m pretty excited about it, not going to lie. If you like me posting things like this, let me know. I may start writing stories, poems, and prayers.  Read more »

What’s This?

“What’s this? a college student planned to get work done not only on her homework but also on her blog? That can’t be so. Something must be done about this” Said Zeus unto me… and thus he made it so. I had lists and lists of things I was going to begin for this blog, and then a large thunderstorm mixed with straight line winds broke 2 power poles in half, sent my chickens tumbling in their coop down what can only be described as a miniature cliff down the side of our hill… Oh well.

So what do we have to look forward to in the coming posts? Well, I’m going to continue the Kitchen Witch Series as well as start a new one. I’m a huge fan of Halloween in all of its forms, and have been throwing a huge Halloween party at my parents house for going on 6 years now. That being said, I want to start a series just about all of the prep and Ideas that I go through for the creative process. I’ll be posting deals that I find, cheap ways to decorate, as well as recipes that I love to use for the party. Who’s excited? I’m excited! I’m so glad I have this blog to share with everyone as well as to feel a part of this New Age community. The best is yet to come!

Effort and Evolution

I make this post in a deep bought of irony. Life changes, people change, things change around us, but we must always put our 100% into everything we do. This is what makes us different from everyone else. Paganism takes a lot of effort. With this religion, there is nothing to follow aimlessly nor a certain book or dogma for us to read religiously. Instead, those of us who do follow this lifestyle decision (because at its core, that is indeed what this is) we have to piece and meld together what we think should be our practice. We are actively involved in our own spirituality, and always learning and creating ourselves anew again. Z. Budapest (If I remember correctly) stated that our Saturn changes every 11 years or so, and this is where we begin again, reconstructing ourselves and creating ourselves as an entirely new being.

I’m not going to lie, I’m a Capricorn by all definitions and am slow to change, but this is the year my life changes in all directions.

I’m actually making this post as a personal one, one that I’m really excited to make. My life is changing and evolving in the best of ways, and I wanted to share. This May I will be moving in with my long-term boyfriend and this December I will be graduating with my Bachelors in History. These are two big changes that have required me to really look at my life and see what is in store for me. I’m also excited that I will be heading to grad school in January to become a librarian, which is a dream career of mine.

Now, what does this mean for the blog? This means I am going to be bringing you an entirely new perspective in my life. I will no longer be living in the dorms, so there will be no limits on the rituals and spells and what not I will be able to bring and share with you. There will also be a long list of new experiences I will be able to share with you guys about. I am beyond excited.  I feel like over the last two years that I’ve been blogging, I’ve been able to share with everyone my growing experiences, my challenges, my hopes and fears, and this will not change. Doors are opening people, and I can’t wait to step through them, and for you all to join me along the way.
