Sacred Woods

Sacred wood, yes I know, there are enough pagan puns that I could fill up a post by itself but all joking aside, this is a fascinating topic. Whether you are making wands or burning fire in a fireplace, the kind of wood you choose can completely affect your outcome. I have done some research, and wanted to provide you with a list. This is also helpful when concerning what trees to plant, and to know what your property’s general feel is. I know there is an endless list of what kind of trees surround an area, but because I am from the south, I am choosing to cover the most popular trees that are indigenous to my area. This should cover the entire southern section of the United States.

For a Swarm of Bees

Sometimes I love to post little prayers or chants. This one I found in Silver Ravenwolf’s The Ultimate Book of Shadows for the New Generation: Solitary Witch. This was the first new age book my mother got for me, I was thirteen. Warding: Part 2

House clean? Check. Garbage thrown out? Check (double kudos for the fact it was garbage night… now it’s off the property as well). I’ve also cleansed the inside of the home with my own mixture of cleaning supplies which has been blessed. Now we’re ready for the actual warding.

Warding Part: 1

I have lots of plans for this summer, in fact I’m considering posting a list of ideas I hope to cover for you guys. I’ll be gardening, doing crafts, and delving deeper into my religion. I have even considered writing a book about modern reconstructionalism, simply because there is not a lot of material out there on the subject. Today however, I plan to cover what I have done today, which is prepared the home to be warded.

Its the night before finals and all through the dorms,

the halls are so silent you could hear a brainstorm.

Gemstone Series: Carnelian

Don’t you just love when the Universe shows you it knows best? I was at EarthBound yesterday, and for some reason this Carnelian caught my eye, and I had no idea why. It was on clearance, and I just can’t fight with that, so off I walked with it and purchased it. I had never bought nor worn a Carnelian before, so I wasn’t quite sure why it picked me, that is until I looked up it’s properties online. I decided that since this is a learning experience I’d share with you what I’d found.
